What happens when accessibility, mobility, innovation and a group of passionate city-makers come together in one place?

Over the past days, the CALL URBACT Transfer Network gathered in Portugal for our second Transnational Meeting, hosted by the outstanding team of Pentágono Urbano.

From Braga to Guimarães, Viana do Castelo and Famalicão, we explored how cities can move beyond compliance and towards truly inclusive urban environments. We exchanged experiences, challenged assumptions, tested transfer methodologies and, most importantly, learned from one another.

Some highlights included:
✅ Discovering smart city solutions and innovative accessibility practices.
✅ Learning from Guimarães’ inspiring work as European Green Capital and its collaborative approach to disability inclusion.
✅ Discussing universal accessibility with leading experts and practitioners.
✅ Experiencing mobility and accessibility solutions on the ground.
✅ Working together on local transfer roadmaps that will transform inspiration into concrete action across our partner cities.

But beyond the presentations, workshops and study visits, the real value of CALL continues to be its people. A network built on trust, openness, curiosity and a shared belief that accessible cities are better cities for everyone.

Now the real work begins: transferring knowledge, engaging local stakeholders and turning ideas into impact.

Because accessibility is not a destination. It is a continuous journey of learning, adapting and improving.
