Accessible Cities for All (CALL) – URBACT IV Transfer Network

As Lead Expert of the “Accessible Cities for All” (CALL) URBACT IV Transfer Network, we support the design, coordination, and implementation of a transnational cooperation initiative focused on inclusive urban development, accessibility, and participatory governance across European cities.

The project, led by the Municipality of Komotini, transfers Komotini’s award-winning Good Practice on accessibility and inclusive urban planning to partner cities across Europe, fostering integrated solutions that combine social inclusion, digital accessibility, sustainable mobility, and citizen participation.

CALL brings together municipalities and development organizations from Greece, Croatia, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Ireland, Slovakia, and Serbia to co-create policies and practical tools that remove physical, social, and digital barriers for all citizens — particularly persons with disabilities, elderly people, and vulnerable groups.

In my role as Lead Expert, I provide strategic guidance on:
• Participatory urban governance and stakeholder engagement
• Accessibility and inclusive city planning
• Transfer methodology and capacity building
• Integrated sustainable urban development strategies
• Cross-border knowledge exchange and policy learning
• Development of local action plans and pilot initiatives

The project promotes a holistic “Accessible City for All” approach by integrating universal design principles, digital innovation, inclusive mobility, green transition objectives, and social cohesion into local urban policies and governance systems.

Funded under the URBACT IV Programme, CALL contributes to EU Cohesion Policy objectives and supports cities in building more resilient, equitable, and people-centered urban environments.
